My dōTERRA order for this month just showed up via the wonderful service of UPS. I love being home when it is delivered so I can dive in and see what I received (I already know due to the fact that I ordered it but I still can’t wait). This month I did something I haven’t done in my time of using dōTERRA. I use some of my points I have built up from getting monthly orders and I got $100 dollars in free product as well as my free product of the month.
My hair can get crazy sometimes but it loves these two products. I also use the other two products in the hair care line but more on them at another time. I usually will add a few extra drops of some hair strengthening and scalp nourishing essential oils just to give the shampoo and conditioner a little boost.
Let’s see if I can describe these oils and their amazing scents.
Kumquat- smells like a mix of orange, lime and tangerine. Has an amazing sweet aroma cut by a slight bitterness, think biting into an Orange to give you a place to start pealing the fruit. Don’t do that? Oops. That’s how my dad thought us to start them. If you don’t do that, the next time you peel a citrus fruit bite into the peel that you just pulled off. You will never forget that bitterness. I say this not in a bad connotation either. It is just ever so slight in fragrance and it adds depth. I think it would smell too sweet without it.
Sunny Citrus- this has Grapefruit, Orange and Peppermint in it. At the beginning of my education classes I always pass out a drop of each of Wild Orange and Peppermint. Have the people that are attending rub their hands together and smell it then run their hands down their neck for a cooling effect. This blend of Sunny Citrus will wake you up and get you ready for the day and cool you off leaving a heavenly minty citrus fragrance that will follow you around all day.
Red Mandarin- wow, I had to smell this one for quite a while to even put my finger on how to even describe this one. Very light in citrus fragrance and you can almost smell how dark red this fruit is. The closest thing that I can attribute it to is the memory of eating the candy Starbursts. Mix an orange one and a cherry one and you will get a hint of what this oil smalls like. But I haven’t eaten starbursts in over 10 years so don’t quote me on this. I just remember mixing the different squares and that was the scent I remember smelling.
I cannot wait to use these oils. They will be a wonderful addition to my usual oils I like to bake with and add to my water to give it some extra flavor.
This stuff is amazing! Here is a little historical fact that I found regarding this oil. The leaves of the melaleuca tree (or tea tree) have been used for centuries by the aborigines to heal cuts, wounds, and skin infections. With twelve times the antiseptic power of phenol, it has some strong immune-building properties. I keep this in my first aid kit for just this reason.
As for the rest of my box I got these completely free! Between using some of my points and the free products of the month I didn’t have to pay a dime.
Serenity is one of my all time favorites. I use this at night in my diffuser to help my husband and I fall asleep. It can also help in calming when you are in situations that aren’t so.
OnGuard is another favorite that I use close to everyday if not everyday he foaming handwash is a wonderful addition to any sink. I have yet to try the detergent but I will review once I have used it a couple times.
TerraShield is for those days when you are outdoors, in the woods, camping, hiking or whatever else you do in the wild blue yonder. This is help those pesky pests steer clear of you and your family members.
Last but not least. Lemon is also an everyday user. Just some of the wonderful things you can do with lemon is add it to you washing machine to clean and disinfect. Use in your water as a metabolism booster and flavor agent.
The end of the box has come so I must stop this blog now. If there is a product that you would like further review of or want to learn more about please let me know and I will do my best. You can also use the links to my site to contact me or get more information.
